Beeple Studios will host Obey and Resist, an event featuring artist Shepard Fairey, on March 31. Fairey is a Charleston native and internationally recognized street artist, graphic designer and activist.
Fairey is best known for his iconic OBEY campaign and the widely circulated “Hope” portrait of Barack Obama created during the 2008 presidential campaign. His work blends street art, pop culture and political messaging, often addressing themes of power, propaganda and social justice. Fairey’s art has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world.
The event will include live artists, screen printing, art battles and additional interactive programming.
Beeple Studios is located at 2325 Charleston Regional Parkway. RSVPs for the event are available online.
