All Types of Media Arts Convention (ATOMACON) returns to North Charleston for its 11th annual 2-day convention on: May 3 and 4, 2025. The family-friendly convention will be held at the College Center (920 Bldg.) at Trident Technical College.
Attendees will to enjoy panels on Cosplay, Paranormal Studies, Art and Music, Literature, Filmmaking and general Fandom such as Star Trek, Dr. Who, Star Wars, Godzilla, Marvel and DC Universes, and much more. Our 7th annual Independent Film Festival will show feature and short films in the sci-fi, fantasy, and horror genres, including fan films.
ATOMACON is celebrating our 11th anniversary with Guest of Honor Delilah S. Dawson. Delilah S. Dawson is the New York Times bestselling writer of Star Wars: Phasma, Galaxy's Edge: Black Spire, Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade, The Secrets of Long Snoot, The Perfect Weapon, and Scorched; Bloom, The Violence, the Blud series, Servants of the Storm, the HIT series, Wake of Vultures and the Shadow series (as Lila Bowen). With Kevin Hearne, she is the co-writer of the Tales of Pell series. Her middle grade works include Mine, Camp Scare, and the Minecraft Mob Squad series. In addition, we will feature over 30 other guest authors, paranormal experts, artists, and filmmaking professionals.
Other features include a Princess Bride shadow cast performed by Charleston’s Absent Friends along with Princess Bride Trivia and Cosplay Contest with prizes (Saturday), dance performances by Serpentine Jade: charity auction and raffle to benefit L.E.A.R.N. Horse Rescue (Saturday); Cosplay Contest (Sunday), Vendor Room, and over 100 hours of workshops, discussion panels, movie screenings, kid’s activities, AR/VR Arena Gaming, and RPG Gaming. Appearances from Palmetto State Ghostbusters, Charleston Society of Horror, Southern Screams, Midnight Terrors Podcast, Carolina Storyteller Podcast, and Halfling and Spaceman Podcast and many others.
New this year is Pirate Day on Saturday which will feature a Pirate Certification Course with a variety of activities to test your pirate skills. All ages are welcome and bonus points if you dress up! Sunday will be Star Wars Day with Star Wars Trivia with prizes, Star Wars Shakespeare, panels and crafts.
