This month’s CreativeMornings event will take place at The Venue MTP on Friday, April 24, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Speaker Mahoganee will discuss the theme, “Ember.”
Mahoganee is a South Carolina-born interdisciplinary cultural worker and Gullah Geechee sound griot who co-created “Indigenous Soul Music” through The Mahoganee Xperience. She also serves as executive creative director of Responsible ARTistry Inc. and works to advance cultural preservation and arts education as a certified teaching artist, Recording Academy member and TEDx performer.
The event will feature a live musical performance from retro indie pop artist Eliza Novella and artwork from watercolor collage artist Anna Chen, a CreativeMornings volunteer.
Breakfast will be provided by Bodega, with coffee from Counter Culture Coffee. Guests are encouraged to bring their own mugs.
