The sixth annual Drifter Fest: Bert Griggs Memorial Jam returns to Charleston on Sept. 11-12 for a weekend of live music, community and celebration honoring the memory and legacy of Bert Griggs.
The main event will take place Saturday, Sept. 12, at The Refinery, featuring a lineup of local performers who tour nationally, as well as vendors, local food, drinks and more. General admission tickets are $30 in advance and $40 on the day of the show. VIP tickets are $60 in advance and $70 on the day of the show.
The Psycodelics will headline the evening with a high-energy performance blending funk, blues, gospel and R&B. Dangermuffin will bring its genre-blending mix of Americana, folk, jam and rock. The band is known for soulful storytelling, uplifting songs and captivating live performances. Just Groove, featuring Rob Corbett, will keep the music flowing with funky jams before and between bands.
Drifter Fest will kick off Friday, Sept. 11, with a free pre-jam at Home Team BBQ downtown featuring The Backwater Brothers, who bring the timeless sound and Southern rock jams of the Allman Brothers Band to life.
This year’s nonprofit beneficiary is once again Rock ’n Roll Rescue, a Lowcountry nonprofit that provides children with access to music education through musical instruments and other creative resources.
