5th Wall’s comeback season continues this spring with a musical entry in this year’s Piccolo Spoleto Festival: the autobiographical Tick, Tick... Boom! by Jonathan Larson, creator of the musical Rent.
Tick, Tick... Boom! features Justin Robinson as Jon, Elisha Black as Michael and Teresa Elj as Susan.
Robinson has appeared on stage at Flowertown Players as the Baker in Into the Woods and as the Beast in Beauty and the Beast. Black most recently played the minstrel in Village Rep’s production of Something Rotten. This will be his final show in Charleston before moving to New York City to continue his acting career. Elj holds a bachelor’s degree in acting with a minor in stage combat from Columbia College Chicago and most recently appeared in Pure Theatre’s production of Gaslight as Nancy.
All three performers are making their debut with 5th Wall, along with director Julia Sorenson, who most recently directed Flowertown Players’ Studio Series production of Orion. Musical direction is by Cathy Almquist, with choreography by Tommy Wallace, costumes by Nina Kahn, properties by Nicole Ochocki and stage management and technical direction by Gwen Morris.
Tick, Tick... Boom! will have six performances during Piccolo Spoleto at Threshold Repertory Theatre, along with two additional performances at 5th Wall’s home venue, the Old Trolley Theatre in Summerville.
