The second annual Beyond the Canvas art show, an exhibition exclusively featuring women sculptors and focusing entirely on 3D art will be held from Thursday, November 21st to Saturday, November 23rd at the Cannon Street Arts Center (134 Cannon Street, Charleston). This unique showcase highlights the diverse voices of female artists who are redefining sculpture’s role in transforming space and creating immersive, physical experiences.
The exhibition brings together sculptures crafted from a variety of materials, including clay, wood, plastic, plaster, fiber, and found objects, offering a broad exploration of form, texture, and dimension. These works invite viewers to experience how 3D art reshapes a space, stimulating the senses and creating a dynamic environment that makes a lasting impression. Beyond the Canvas is not only a celebration of female creativity, but also a testament to the power of 3D art to engage audiences in a physical and meaningful way.
Featuring Artists include: Nadia Stieglitz, Nathalie Naylor, Brittan Blasdel, Beatrice Bernier, Hirona Matsuda, Vassiliki Falkehag, Susan Klein and Olivia Bonilla.
An opening reception will be held on Thursday, November 21st from 5 pm to 8 pm. On Friday, attendees can see the exhibit from 5 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday from 2 pm to 8 pm.
