On Feb. 17, 2026, citizens across the U.S. will hold organized meetings with congressional offices in their home districts. The goal of these meetings is to make the case that based on the multiple illegal and unconstitutional actions of the Trump Administration, impeachment is not optional but required under the Constitution.
Here is a partial list:
- The unconstitutional and illegal military strike in Venezuela to remove President Nicolás Maduro.
- The extrajudicial killing of at least 126 people in 36 boat strikes which violate international human rights law and lack a declared armed conflict to justify the use of lethal force.
- The extrajudicial murders of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti by ICE while exercising their first amendment rights.
- The continued obstruction of justice for victims of Jeffrey Epstein’s child sex trafficking ring.
- Criminalizing 1st Amendment activity by arresting journalists like Don Lemon
This National Day of Action is organized by Citizens’ Impeachment, with close to 100 events planned nationwide.
Concerned citizens in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District called Nancy Mace’s District Office multiple times to request a meeting. No one answered the phone and voicemails went unanswered. Kristey Kinney, founder of Indivisible Charleston, who placed the calls stated, “It’s frustrating and disappointing that Congresswoman Mace is unresponsive to and dismissive of the people she is elected to represent.”
Those requesting the meeting belong to grassroots groups which represent thousands of Charleston County residents. They include Indivisible Charleston, represented by Founder Kristy Kinney; 50501 CHS The People’s Movement, represented by Volunteer Organizer Tracey Tapp; and the Charleston Chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, represented by Co-Facilitator Max Sorgenfrey. Attorney Susan Dunn also planned to attend the meeting to speak about constitutional and legal issues.
The group hoped to meet with Mace or a staffer in person, and ask that she do the following:
The groups say they will host a short, informal press conference outside Rep. Mace's Daniel Island office building (900 Island Park Drive) at noon at Tuesday, Feb.17, 2026.
“The bottom line” says Tapp, “is that the Trump Administration is repeatedly violating the U.S. Constitution and dismantling the rule of law. These are the foundations of our democracy. We are calling on Congresswoman Mace to uphold her oath of office and do something about it.”
