Hollywood Mayor John Dunmyer, III Announces Re-election Bid

Hollywood, SC mayor John Dunmyer, III, has officially filed for re-election and released the following statement: 

“I have filed for re-election as your Mayor, the Mayor of the great Town of Hollywood. I fundamentally believe in the concept of community and that is made great when we have leaders that lead with character and integrity. Being a native of Hollywood and coming from a family with deep roots in Hollywood, it has been the honor of a lifetime serving as your Mayor the past four years. Serving on the Town Council for twenty years and being homegrown has allowed my values in the Mayor’s office to align with the values of our beloved community. This has been proven through my leadership and many accomplishments over the years. I am proud of the work we’ve done, most notably: Annexation of 104 acres welcoming 12 new residents, passing a Bond Ordinance in 2020 to assure financial resources for the Town for years to come, working towards the beautification of Hollywood for residents and visitors, maintaining our commitment to control and monitor development and infrastructure by securing over 5 million dollars in grants to modernize our sewer system, investing in the newly formed Serenity Park on Trexler Ave., adding to the legacy of the Emanuel Nine, and supporting the completion of the West County Aquatic Center to provide swimming lessons for our children and provide a recreational component to our town. These, and many other accomplishments were achieved during my tenure and under my leadership. I look forward to continuing the work of creating a town that is representative of the people who inhabit it and one that creates dignity and pride in this part of Charleston County. I am inspired by your unwavering support, and I am looking forward to the continued support of Hollywood residents in the upcoming Election on June 6.”
