The annual Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival will take place on Sunday, April 30th at Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park.
The festival pays tribute to Mount Pleasant's local shrimping and fishing industry and features:
- A boat parade
- Ceremonial blessing of the shrimp/fishing fleet
- Live music
- Craft show
- Seafood samplings sold by local restaurants
- Shag dancing
- Shrimp-eating contests
- Family-friendly activities
Admission, parking, and activities are free. The festival runs from 11 am until 5 pm. Once the parking lot fills up, attendees can utilize a free shuttle services.
