After being found guilty on all charges related to the murder of his wife and son, disbarred South Carolina Alex Murdaugh was today sentenced to two consecutive sentences of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Murdaugh, 54, on Thursday evening was found guilty by a jury of two counts of murder and two counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Sentencing will take place on Friday at 9:30 am. The minimum sentence for each count of murder was 30 years and the maximum was life without the possibility of parole.
Murdaugh's wife Maggie, 52, and son Paul, 22, were found fatally shot near dog kennels at the family's home in Islandton , SC on June 7, 2021.
