A long year of actual writer's block led to the twisted tale of the Black Fedora's latest comedy – Help! I Think My Characters Are Trying to Kill Me! A playwright with severe writer’s block must finish a murder mystery script with the audience already seated before him, else face the wrath of The Director. As he writes, his characters come to life to solve the crime, but the playwright soon begins to suspect that his own creations are out to kill him … as they begin to fear it is he who is out for them!
More than 20 audience actors step into the plot as mystery and adventure story archetypes: The Simple Man, Officer Jonesy, The Secret Contact, The Mad Doc, and even zombies. Other audience members follow along and solve the crime.
Help! opens the first weekend of March. Black Fedora shows this spring and summer will be nightly at 8 pm, with additional shows at 5 pm on Thursdays and Saturdays. Shows are casual, interactive, family-friendly, and last just under two hours. Desserts, appetizers, and drinks are available for ordering before the show and at intermission.
