Website: South Carolina Among The “Least Cultural States”
A vacation rental marketplace (for some reason) compiled a list of the least cultural states in the US and they decided South Carolina was the 9th least cultural. The rankings came from Florida Rentals, which analyzed the number of ‘cultural’ attractions, in this case, landmarks, museums, and art galleries, in all 50 states, as a percentage of the total attractions available.
It found that their home state, Florida, is the least cultural state in the country. The state is home to 1,534 sights and landmarks, 1,175 museums, and 614 art galleries – meaning that out of the 25,908 attractions in the state, only 12.83% were considered cultural, the lowest percentage of any US state.
Nevada was second on the list, with only 14.73% of all 3,884 attractions in the state being cultural. Coming in third place is the state of Alaska.
