Charleston County Opens Application Process for State Accommodations Tax
Charleston County Government is now accepting applications for distribution of approximately $263,872 to non-profit, 501(c) organizations and foundations that own tourism-related facilities in Charleston County. Eligible projects include renovations and maintenance to these facilities.
The fiscal year 2023 application for State Accommodations Tax funding is due to the Charleston County Budget Department by 5 pm on Wednesday, January 11th, 2023. To obtain an application, go to www.charlestoncounty.org/departments/budget.
The applications are reviewed and ranked by the State Accommodations Tax Committee according to criteria approved by Charleston County Council. The overall funding and allocation amounts are subject to approval by County Council in February 2023. State Accommodations Tax awards are eligible for costs incurred between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023.
