Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lowcountry believes that all youth deserve an opportunity to reach their full promise and potential. The funds raised at the BIG Lowcountry Boil will make it possible for the organization to create and support 300 one-to-one mentoring relationships between high-potential youth and caring adult mentors. According to the organization, the children who have a Big Brother/Sister do better in school, develop stronger relationships with peers and family, avoid risky behaviors that could get them off track, and develop greater aspirations for their future.
Tickets are on sale now at www.bbbslowcountry.org/blb and cost $40 for adults and $15 for youth (7-12 years of age). Children 0-6 years can attend for free. Each ticket includes a traditional Lowcountry shrimp boil with sides, two Holy City Brewing beers or non-alcoholic beverages, live music, outdoor games, family-friendly activities, and a silent auction.
