Howard Blackwell, the owner and resident performer at Holy City Magic, will this week appear on Penn & Teller: Fool Us, The CW series featuring magicians trying to fool the veteran duo with a single trick and win a spot in Penn & Teller’s Las Vegas show. Blackwell’s appearance will be on Friday, November 18th at 8 pm (Season 9, Episode 6, titled “Magic Socks Big Time”).
Blackwell performs locally on most Friday and Saturday nights at Holy City Magic, located in downtown Charleston at 49 1/2 John Street. Holy City Magic features magic and variety shows in an intimate and fun venue. Adults only evening shows start with a cocktail hour where magicians entertain guests with close-up magic at the bar followed by an hour and a half stage performance. Matinee shows are one-hour and family-friendly. Holy City Magic also brings in multiple nationally touring guest magicians for both adult and matinee shows.
Plus, the theater also houses historical magic and sideshow memorabilia, including numerous Houdini artifacts and movie props.
