LawnStarter, a lawn services company, released a report on 2022's Best States to Visit This Fall and they ranked South Carolina as the 5th WORST in the country.
To come up with the ranking, the website compared compared the 50 states based on 20 indicators of a “breathtaking and fun fall trip.” Those indicators include things like outdoor access, number of state parks and hiking trails, as well as fall-themed amusements like pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and hayrides. They also considered how long fall foliage is visible.

- Number of Scenic Drives – 40th
- Number of Hiking Trails – 40th
- Corn Mazes per 100,000 Residents – 43rd
- Hurricane Risk – 46th
