We at Holy City Sinner thank you for your patronage and hope 2022 is an awesome year for our followers. We continue to provide you current news and helpful items that keep you up on the Holy City and provide information that might be useful to our followers. 

Thankfully the entertainment community is beginning to make a comeback. Movie theaters are opening. More clubs and night spots are offering live music. Playhouses are up and running. It’s time to start getting back out there and enjoy the weekend and all the nightlife the Holy City has to offer.

For the first time since 2018, the RiverDogs will play a home game on July 4! There is no better way to celebrate our independence than enjoying America’s pastime followed by the largest fireworks show of the season set to a medley of All-American music presented by First National Bank. Bang Productions presents NYC Comedian Tom Cotter at The Wonderer 1705 Meeting Street on Friday at 7pm. The Comedy Series will feature a local comedian at each show. Hosted by Unimpressed Podcast’s John Edmonds Kozma. Tickets $25. Saturday

Friday 4-7:30pm at Creekside at Carolina Bay Amberbrook Lane come out for Holy Rolly At Carolina Bay Park in West Ashley off Savannah Hwy. Enjoy live music and food trucks at this event.

Alternative pop band Rainbow Kitten Surprise play at the Woodlands Reserve 4279 Ashley River Road 7pm Friday night.

On Saturday from 2-8pm enjoy Brown & Simmons – 4th July Get Down celebration. Free Food & Drinks, Games. Bring the whole family. Just show up and enjoy time with the Family. Event takes place 20 Mary Murray Drive.

Saturday from 4-9pm enjoy an Independence Day Celebration on Daniel Island at Smythe Park. Enjoy MC/DJ Shane Griffin 4-5pm and Charleston Concert Band 5-6pm. From 6-9pm it’s E2 & The Feel for fun styles such as rock, country, shag, and more. There will be several food truck options for event attendees to purchase from.

The Biergarten 4th of July Bash — Bay Street Biergarten 549 East Bay Street takes place Sunday 11-8pm. They will have live music all day featuring Greg Keys + Co from 12 PM – 3 PM followed by Old Soul Band from 5 PM – 8 PM! Stay cool all day with Cathead Vodka specials!

Sunday come out for Party in the Park w/ THEODIS at 4-Mile Community Center 1800 Labor Camp Rd in Mount Pleasant. Hosted by Star 99.7’s Savannah J, featuring music by Dj Mack Mama, Shad Ike and Boss Hogg. Tickets $30 advance. Gates open at 2pm. Bring chairs & coolers.

The City of North Charleston will present its annual 4th of July Festival at Riverfront Park on Independence Day from 5 pm to 10 pm. The Festival is presented free of charge to the public. Music, food trucks, vendors & more. Details at

MLima’s Tale by Lynn Nottage is playing this weekend at Pure Theatre 134 Cannon Street. A magnificent elephant is trapped by the underground international ivory market. Deep Water Vineyard 6775 Bears Bluff Road Wadmalaw Island host Weekend Wine-Down on Saturday beginning at 11am.   Explore the grounds, listen to Cotton Blue Band on the lawn playing music from 1-4PM. Our food truck is, crowd favorite, Welton’s Pizza.

Wild Dunes Resort begin their Summer Live Music Series this Saturday at the Grand Pavillion 1 Sundial Circle, Isle of Palms on Wild Dunes. Enjoy Super Reggae Man @ The Laughing Gull, 2:00-5:00PM followed by Michael Duff @ the Grand Pavilion, 5:00-8:00PM

Friday evening 6-9pm head to the Village Green at Freshfields Village for a complimentary, outdoor concert featuring Java Band. Guests are encouraged to bring beach chairs and blankets as the center welcomes back one of its favorite events. Music on the Green returns this summer every Friday from May 27 through September 2.

The Holy City Farmers Market will return to Firefly Distillery in North Charleston on the last Saturday of every month through November! Shop local at the distillery from 12-4pm with 20+ vendors. Enjoy live music from the front porch and visit the History Room for a glimpse at the distillation and bottling process. There is a food truck scheduled every weekend with full-bar service available on the back porch. Music kicks off at 1pm. Visit the tasting room to try Firefly’s famous sweet tea vodka, lemonade and more libations.

Sundays from 1pm-2pm at the Revelry Brewing Co. 10 Conroy Street enjoy a 1-hour tour guided by a knowledgeable Revelry staff member at two locations. Enjoy a draft pint at each location during the tour. Enjoy samples drawn directly from the fermentation tanks and Oak Feeders. Join Palmetto Brewing Company 289 Huger Street on the Loading Dock every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening at 6 pm for live music. Check their site for times.

Boone Hall Plantation is open with adjusted days and hours of operation. Currently Boone Hall Plantation is open Monday through Saturday – 9am-5pm and on Sunday – 12pm-5pm. One price includes all tours. Admission is $26 for ages 13-64. Seniors-AAA-Military tickets are $23, and Children 6-12 are $12. Enjoy Cars & Coffee every third Saturday 9-11am at Freshfields Village. Arrive in your favorite ride or stop by the Village Green to browse unique, antique and other cool cars at our monthly Cars & Coffee! Coffee and breakfast will be available for purchase at Java Java. Every Tuesday in May enjoy Shag Night on the Dock. Join Freshfields Village and Doin’ the Charleston for our Spring Shag Night each Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This Friday night Soul Fish perform on the lawn during the Music on the Green Concert Series beginining at 6pm.

Edmund’s Oast has brought back Champagne Fridays 11am – 8pm at their location at Edmund’s Oast Exchange, 1081 Morrison Drive in downtown Charleston. Offering a different grower Champagne by the glass all day, every Friday on the patio! For details call 843) 727-1145.

Many of Charleston’s favorite theatre groups and live comedy clubs offer live streaming of shows and plays. Please check them out for additional opportunities for events, and things to do.

The Charleston Farmers Market, located in Marion Square, will begin the 2022 market season Saturday March 5th. The market is open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. through November 26. Please note, the market will be closed March 26 and April 2 for the Cooper River Bridge Run prep and event. Inclement weather effects the event and vendor participation from time to time.

The Charleston City Night Market (Market Streets) is open this weekend. The marketplace is an exciting showcase of more than 100 talented artists and craftspeople that occurs every Friday and Saturday evening from March – December. The Night Market runs from 6:30 – 10:30 pm and is a free event that is open to the public.

The Sea Island Farmers Market takes place every Saturday 9:30-1:30pm at 2024 Academy Rd. on Johns Island. Dozens of local vendors offering up produce, baked goods, arts & crafts, and more. For more visit their site

The Hanahan Farmers and Vendors Market Public hosted by Hanahan Recreation Department take place Friday 5-8pm at 1255 Yeamans Hall Rd, Hanahan. Food Trucks, Live Music and amazing vendors! Bring the entire family.

If you just want to get out of the house, there are of course city parks open as well as most area golf courses. Sunny days are welcome for walking the beach, bicycling, jogging, maybe tossing the frisbee, or getting in a round of golf. Check with golf courses for certain restrictions. Plus, Park Circle in North Charleston offers a nice disc golf course.

Middleton Place, the ancestral home of two Founding Fathers and site of America’s oldest landscaped gardens, has reopened to the public. Ticket pricing has been revised, as well. Lowcountry Tri-County residents pay $26 while non-locals pay $29 per adult. However, if you purchase online, tickets are $20, a 30% discount that also allows for nearly contactless admission. Bowling alleys are now opening. Royal Lanes in Goose Creek is practicing safe protocols and are ready to welcome you to enjoy bowling with family and friends. Car enthusiasts enjoy Mt. P Cars & Coffee every Saturday morning 8-11am at Mount Pleasant Towne Center in the Barnes & Noble parking lot.

The Bojangles Restaurant 431 St. James Avenue in Goose Creek will host Goose Creek Cars this Saturday from 8-10am. The group meets twice a month. All types of vehicles are welcome.

 Black Fedora Mystery Theater on the market (164 Church St.) is open. Get ready to laugh and have some real fun again. The re-opening day is Thursday May 27th. Check out all they have to offer at Among the shows being offered up include ‘Sherlock’s Other Brother by a Southern Mother’, ‘Murder Aboard the Starship Fed Ora’, ‘Inspector No Clue’s Murder Mystery’, and ‘Church Street Daughters of the Late Unpleasantness Garden, Gun, and Gin Club’. If you love to laugh than Theatre 99 is the place to go. Friday & Saturday night at 8pm it’s another round of Take the Funny & Run. Live improv comedy at Theatre 99 is a Charleston tradition! Shows at Theatre 99 are improv parties where audience members laugh until it hurts. Come loaded with suggestions for the quick-witted Theatre 99 ensemble members who will take your suggestions…and rock out hilarious unscripted scenes.  Wednesday nights are a Charleston tradition that feature long form improv comedy.  Every show is different and completely based on audience suggestions. $12 for 8pm show. The world-famous Windjammer on the Isle of Palms is alive and totally rockin’ this holiday weekend. Flipturn rock the beach stage on Friday night at 6pm. Tickets $20. Later it’s Happy Landing on the main stage at 9pm. Tickets $10 or free with Flipturn ticket. Saturday Palmetto state rocker Edwin McCain returns to the Jammer for a 6pm show on the beach stage. Tickets $30. Flashmob close out the night at 9pm on the inside stage. $10 or free with earlier show ticket. Sunday totally rocks the Jammer with Drivin’ n’ Cryin’ playing on the beach stage at 6pm. Tickets $25. Later Charleston’s own Eddie Bush rocks the main stage at 9pm. Tickets $10 or free with DNC ticket stub. Monday Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ return to the beach stage for an encore performance.
