Local Youth Organization Geared Toward Entrepreneurship to Host Fashion Show

By: Krystal Yeadon,

Entrepreneur Centers 4 Youth (EC Youth) will host its Entrepreneurs in Fashion and Merchandise Fashion Show on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 3-6 PM at Burke High School (244 President Street, Charleston, SC 29403). Event attendees will learn about the fashion and merchandise industry through entrepreneurial speakers, which is one of the most important highlights of EC Youth’s entrepreneurial events, along with financial literacy as the core focus.

The fashion show will feature local talent on the runway from Francis and Benedict, Outstanding Occasions by Dell Plus Size Models, MM Entertainment Kids in Fashion, Paul Mitchell the School Charleston, and The Fashionistas of Burke High School (Class of 2022). There will also be vendors, food available for purchase, networking, and giveaways. Besides fashion and merchandise, other topics entrepreneurs will speak on include starting a business, politics, and information technology. Admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased on Eventbrite under Entrepreneurs in Fashion and Merchandise.

The organization is still accepting youth and adult vendors and also sponsors for the event. Vendor spots, sponsorship, and EC Youth t-shirts can all be purchased on under the Entrepreneurs in Fashion and Merchandise. COVID-19 precautions for this event include proof of vaccination or a negative rapid test within 24 hours of the event. Masks are required to be worn at all times.

EC Youth usually holds financial literacy events in January, June, and October with speakers who educate attendees on starting a business, strategic planning, law, marketing, accounting, banking, money management, politics, and more. The organization also has a Learn Earn, Earn Learn (L.E.E.L.) Program that allows youth participants to earn stipends made possible through sponsors and grants for attending school, meeting with their mentors and tutors, volunteering, and working on their portfolio for planning for their future. The EC Youth theme is Education + Entrepreneurship = Dreams Come True.

Entrepreneur Centers 4 Youth (EC Youth) was established to expose youth ages 17 and younger to entrepreneurship. Its mission is building youth entrepreneurs and entrepreneur centers, too. Each youth is their own center. Youth are taught the tools of entrepreneurship, which are education, volunteering, mentoring, tutoring, apprenticeships, vending, scholarships, and more, and how to use them. EC Youth has an ultimate goal of educating youth about financial literacy.
