Charleston Jazz Announces a New Band
The members of Momentum create an eclectic mix of Classic and Contemporary Fusion, R&B, Soul Jazz, and Gospel. Their music is inspired by Robert Glasper, Jon Batiste, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Jill Scott, and Snarky Puppy. The group is led by Demetrius Doctor, Music Director of the Royal Missionary Baptist Church.
“Momentum will feature some of Charleston’s most talented musicians playing music we all love,” Doctor said. “I’m so excited to bring these incredible musicians together on one stage and present our interpretations of the music that shaped and continue to shape many of our careers.”
