On Wednesday, February 2nd, from 6 pm to 9 pm at the historic and recently restored Sottile Theatre, the Preservation Society of Charleston (PSC) will host the 68th Carolopolis Awards. Expanding on its tradition of recognizing exemplary efforts in preservation, the PSC will recognize a diverse group of 11 winning projects through this year’s program.
The Carolopolis Awards ceremony and reception is the PSC’s marquee event, celebrating and honoring the very best of preservation work in Charleston. Following the awards program will be a champagne toast, full reception, and silent auction.
Tickets for this event are limited and advance registration is recommended. Tickets are $100 and may be purchased via the Sottile Theatre box office and online here. Your ticket directly supports the mission of the Preservation Society of Charleston. The 68th Carolopolis Awards is presented by Carriage Properties.
The Carolopolis Award was created in 1953 to recognize outstanding achievement in historic preservation. The presentation of a Carolopolis Award recognizes extraordinary private and public efforts to maintain the historic character and authenticity of Charleston and the Lowcountry. To date, the Preservation Society has presented more than 1,400 awards in recognition of such achievement. In 2016, the Society introduced new awards for the preservation of historic interiors as well as compatible new construction.
