Nearly two weeks after telling the community that the Destiny Community Cafe was closing due to an increase in rent, owner Ragina Scott-Saunders has announced the creation of a fundraiser to assist the nonprofit as it transitions into a food truck.
The Destiny Community Cafe was a pay-what-you-can restaurant located in North Charleston. On October 30th, WCBD reported that after feeding the community for almost 7 years, the business was going to close after the property manager raised rent by thousands of dollars.
