Charleston County Public Works will this week close lanes on Calhoun, George, and Queen Streets to spray asphalt rejuvenator. Parking will be prohibited during work hours. Vehicles parked after 7 pm will be towed.
Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic. All dates and times are weather dependent.
Tentative construction dates:
- Calhoun Street: Tuesday, November 9th and Wednesday, November 10th from 7 pm to 7 am
- George Street: Wednesday, November 10th from 7 pm to 7 am
- Queen Street: Saturday, November 13th from 12 am to 8 am
The spray-on rejuvenator treatment protects the asphalt from sun and water exposure. It also extends the road’s life by five years, which reduces long-term maintenance costs.
