Vive Le Rock Productions will host their annual Rockabillaque Charleston event in Park Circle from November 12th through November 14th. Concerts and other events will take place at a variety of locations throughout the three days of the festival, benefiting local non-profit animal rescue and rehabilitation organization Valiant: Animal Rescue & Relief.
Rockabillaque Charleston is the biggest festival of its kind in the Carolinas, celebrating mid-century culture and all things Americana. This jam-packed, 3-day event features musical acts from all over the country, a classic car and vintage bike show, contests including the popular Pin-Up Contest, aerial artists, a flash tattoo promotion, carnival games, classic American food, and much more.
The festival and its organizers said they are excited to return to Park Circle after the event was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To help support the health and safety of this year's attendees, 2021 Rockabillaque will be foregoing its traditional street festival, which draws crowds of more than 14k each year, in favor of expanding events over the course of three days and introducing attendees to even more of what the historic Park Circle area has to offer while keeping the festival action-packed, safe, and fun for all ages.
With the health and safety of attendees in mind, the majority of this year's events are being held outside. Rockabillaque's organizers will be encouraging social distancing and will have masks available for those who need them. Chairs and blankets are encouraged for the Saturday Main Event at Firefly Distillery, and all events except The Mill Midnight Madness shows are open to all ages.
This year's entertainment features a lineup of national acts including the legendary Reverend Horton Heat as one of the event's big headliners. Other well-known acts include Lara Hope & the Ark-Tones, Hot Rod Walt & The Psycho-Devilles, Sean K. Preston & The Loaded Pistols, Kinda Fonda Wanda (Wanda Jackson Tribute Band), Little Lesley & The Bloodshots, The Tan & Sober Gentlemen, Jane Rose & The Deadend Boys, Matchstick Johnny, Vaden Landers, Skinny McGee & His Mayhem Makers, Slim & the Gems, Smokin’ Souls, and Crooked Pointer – plus local Charleston music acts Jared Petteys and the Headliners, Johnny & The Broken Hearts, Hot Club of Charleston, Yum Yum Boys, Mission Critical, and The Rowdy Boys.
