On Wednesday, October 20th, Uptown Social will host an event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in partnership with Fleur de Mer, Pink Whitney, Bev, and Share Our Suzy. The inaugural charitable event, “On Wednesday's We Drink Pink,” will take place on the rooftop from 7 pm to 10 pm.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Each ticket includes a complimentary glass of Fleur de Mer, Bev, or Pink Whitney “Pink Drink,” plus passed hors d’oeuvres. DJ SJ will provide the Girl Power jams all night long. Plus, the bar will be raffling off a basket of goodies featuring many local female-owned businesses. All ticket, T-Shirt, and raffle proceeds will be donated to Share Our Suzy. On each of the following Wednesdays, Uptown Social will offer a special on half bottles of Fleur de Mer Rosé, Bev Sparkling Rosé cans, and Pink Whitney “Pink Drinks.” One dollar from each special purchased will be donated to the local organization, Share Our Suzy. Share Our Suzy, as it's known today, was founded in 2005 after the passing of Charleston local Suzy McGrane. The goal of SOS is to allow patients to focus solely on recovery and not the financial stress brought on during this very difficult battle. The foundation picks up where Suzy left off and aids those with bridging the financial gap from diagnosis to remission. Funds raised are used to provide assistance to those with every day needs such as wigs, prosthetics, childcare, gas cards, utility bill assistance, medication assistance and more. SOS helps cover the critical areas that insurance companies do not. SOS, a 501(c)(3) provides these types of assistance to people who would otherwise have to do without.
