Mt. Pleasant’s Post House will welcome acclaimed Savannah restaurant The Grey for a dinner in celebration of the culinary memoir Black, White, and The Grey: The Story of an Unexpected Friendship and a Beloved Restaurant, on Tuesday, August 24th.
The evening celebrates The Grey’s co-founders Mashama Bailey and Johno Morisano and their best-selling book, which explores how the two unconventional partners built a relationship and a restaurant that would inspire conversations around gender, race, class, and culture. Post House Chef Nathan Hood collaborated with the James Beard Award winning chef to create a menu inspired by the book’s recipes and stories. Morisano and Chef Bailey will be in attendance to share stories and greet guests.
On Tuesday, August 24th, guests will enjoy a four-course, prix fixe menu featuring dishes highlighted in the book. Wine pairings are available for an additional purchase, as is a VIP hour which includes a meet-and-greet with the authors, along with canapes and cocktails.
The menu features:
Abundant Vermillion Snapper Crudo with Bull’s Bay Clam Oreganata Vinaigrette
Bagna Cauda with Lowcountry late summer vegetables, thorn garlic, anchovy
Roasted Carolina Heritage Farms Pork with heirloom carrots, fresh dug potatoes,
light curry sauce
Spicy Carolina Peanut and Valrhona Chocolate Parfait
Tickets for the dinner are $75 per person and $125 for the VIP event and prix fixe menu combined. Cocktails, beer, and wine will be served a la carte, along with a wine pairing offering. Reserve on Resy here (click August 24 to purchase). Head to theposthouseinn.com for more information.
