We at Holy City Sinner thank you for your patronage and hope 2021 is an awesome year for our followers. We continue to provide you current news and helpful items that keep you up on the Holy City and provide information that might be useful to our followers. 

Thankfully the entertainment community is beginning to make a comeback. Movie theaters are opening. More clubs and night spots are offering live music. Soon the playhouses will be up and running. It’s time to start getting back out there and enjoy the weekend and all the nightlife the Holy City has to offer. We are Holy City Sinner will keep you up on as much as we can. Lights In The Forest Festival 2021 takes place this weekend at the Woodlands Nature Reserve 4279 Ashley River Rd. in West Ashley. Show starts at 12:00 PM. Join them for another magical adventure into the land of lights, music, & love. As we return to embark on the second journey at now their new home Woodlands Nature Reserve (Charleston Woodlands) to continue South Carolina`s ever so growing music & arts camping festival with national & regional electronic DJs in this day into night over a spectrum colorful lighted forest. Introducing also jam band sessions as this will immerse the energy as they vibe out to more of the amazing sounds that both types of music will bring. America’s Largest Interactive Mystery Dinner Show takes place on Saturday night 6pm at the Embassy Suites – Convention Center 5055 International Blvd in North Charleston. Unlike a typical murder mystery dinner theatre performance, you won’t be watching a handful of actors stiffly reciting lines in front of the room. The action happens all around you, and any person in the audience can end up being a part of the show, even YOU! Snafu Brewing Company 3280 Industry Drive, Suite A North Charleston host Sunday Funday w/ Drunk Tony’s Food Truck this Sunday. Come for the cheesy, chewy, salty, crunchy toasted ravioli, stay for the pasta, gnocchi, salads, and beer! On Friday your Charleston Battery host the Charlotte Independence in exciting professional soccer action. Game time is 7pm at the Patriots Point complex in Mt. Pleasant. Fun for all ages. Tickets range from $12 – $35. For more call 843-971-GOAL. .

Now in it’s 20th season Charleston’s 2021 Party at the Point continues this Friday at Patriots Point. This family-friendly event is hosted on the beachfront of Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina and features live music and plenty of food and drinks. To ensure everyone’s safety this season, each event is limited to 600 general admission ticket holders. All shows $10, children 12 and under are free. Gates open at 5:00. Queen Street Playhouse at 20 Queen Street continue their summer blockbuster cinema series on Friday & Saturday. Friday it’s ‘Scream’, and Saturday night it’s ‘Black Panther’.  Both show at 8pm. Sunday from 1pm-2pm at the Revelry Brewing Co. 10 Conroy Street enjoy a 1 hour tour guided by a knowledgeable Revelry staff member at two locations. Boone Hall Plantation is open with adjusted days and hours of operation. They’re open Thursday-Friday-Saturday 9-5pm 9am-5pm and Sunday 12pm-5pm.  One price includes all tours. Admission is $26 for ages 13-64. Seniors-AAA-Military tickets are $23 and Children 6-12 are $12. Estuary Beans & Barley located at 3538 Meeks Farm Rd, Johns Island not only serve up great beer and coffee, they also host food trucks on the weekend. Friday night at Estuary enjoy Braised in the South Food Truck 5-8pm. Edmund’s Oast has brought back Champagne Fridays 11am – 8pm at their location at Edmund’s Oast Exchange, 1081 Morrison Drive in downtown Charleston. Offering a different grower Champagne by the glass all day, every Friday on the patio! For details call 843) 727-1145.

The Charleston City Night Market (Market Streets) is open this weekend. The marketplace is an exciting showcase of more than 100 talented artists and craftspeople that occurs every Friday and Saturday evening from March – December. The Night Market runs from 6:30 – 10:30 pm and is a free event that is open to the public.

The Sea Island Farmers Market takes place every Saturday 9:30-1:30pm at 2024 Academy Rd. on Johns Island. Dozens of local vendors offering up produce, baked goods, arts & crafts, and more. For more visit their site https://www.seaislandfarmersmarket.com/

The Hanahan Farmers and Vendors Market Public hosted by Hanahan Recreation Department take place Friday 5-8pm at 1255 Yeamans Hall Rd, Hanahan. Food Trucks, Live Music and amazing vendors! Bring the entire family.

If you just want to get out of the house their are of course city parks open as well as most area golf courses. Sunny days are welcome for walking the beach, bicycling, jogging, maybe tossing the frisbee, or getting in a round of golf. Check with golf courses for certain restrictions. Plus Park Circle in North Charleston offers a nice disc golf course.

Due to situations with  COVID-19 in South Carolina, the West Ashley Farmers Market will open as an essentials only market on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Ackerman Park, located at 55 Sycamore Avenue.  Vendors and patrons will be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing throughout the event, and to follow all other CDC protocols related to COVID-19. This new, essentials-only format will feature farmer and grower vendors exclusively, including Gruber Farms, Robert Fields Farm and Oliver Freeman Farm. No prepared food vendors, entertainment or other activities will be included.

Middleton Place, the ancestral home of two Founding Fathers and site of America’s oldest landscaped gardens, has reopened to the public. Ticket pricing has been revised, as well. Lowcountry Tri-County residents pay $26 while non-locals pay $29 per adult. However, if you purchase online, tickets are $20, a 30% discount that also allows for nearly contactless admission. Bowling alleys are now opening. Royal Lanes in Goose Creek is practicing safe protocols and are ready to welcome you to enjoy bowling with family and friends. 34 West Theatre begin their run of ‘Stayin’ Alive’. A daytime TV star fights for love, life and bell bottoms in this hilarious musical, with music from Elton to Kiki Dee! Welcome to the Weekend Buzz on Holy City Sinner. Here’s what’s happening this weekend. The following is a list of just a few events and happenings you might want to take part in during the weekend. Consider the list a cornucopia of happenings around the Lowcountry of Charleston. Something for everyone. The year heats up with events, so be sure to check the Weekend Buzz out on Holy City Sinner. Thanks! Lots happening in Chuck-town this weekend. If you love comedy, plays, sports, food & festivals, you’ll find something to do this weekend. 

While events, concerts, festivals, theatre productions are slowly making their return,  please take the time to enjoy your immediate family and your close circle of friends. This is the time to revisit an old movie, binge watch TV shows, re-familiarize yourself with a old fashioned book.

Life is slowly returning to normal and the good Lord has kept watch over the Holy City. Charleston is strong and has survived natural disasters and church shootings and come back stronger. There is no small wonder we wear the title of Holy City, because our faith in God and community spirit has always bonded us together. Remain strong, pray for your community leaders, health care providers, first responders, military, and elected officials.  Together we will rise above this current threat.

Car enthusiasts enjoy Mt. P Cars & Coffee every Saturday morning 8-11am at Mount Pleasant Towne Center in the Barnes & Noble parking lot.

The Bojangles Restaurant 431 St. James Avenue in Goose Creek will host Goose Creek Cars this Saturday from 8-10am. The group meets twice a month. All types of vehicles are welcome.

After a year long hiatus Black Fedora Mystery Theater on the market (164 Church St.) is open. Get ready to laugh and have some real fun again. The re-opening day is Thursday May 27th. If you love to laugh than Theatre 99 is the place to go. Friday and Saturday night it’s the debut of Take The Funny & Run! Live improv comedy at Theatre 99 is a Charleston tradition! Shows at Theatre 99 are improv parties where audience members laugh until it hurts. Come loaded with suggestions for the quick witted Theatre 99 ensemble members who will take your suggestions…and rock out hilarious unscripted scenes. Guaranteed to make you laugh! Tickets $20 for shows.  Stay late for Saturday Night Comedy at 10pm. Theatre 99 is thrilled to present a special one night only stand up comedy event featuring Charleston, New York and Savannah’s finest. And all 3 of them are Theatre 99 company members. The world famous Windjammer on the Isle of Palms  in rockin’ this weekend. Friday & Saturday night it’s Midnight City. Ticket are $20 Doors 6:00 Show at 7:00ish. Ages 21UP or with parent. 9pm Friday night Charleston guitar god Eddie Bush takes the inside stage at the Jammer. Tickets $5. Saturday Sol Fish play inside at 9pm with $5 admission.     I will definitely be checking out ‘Taste of Folly’ this weekend! I have also been wanting to try out Braised in the South’s new location over on Johns Island.
