The Charleston Gaillard Center today announced the summer return of the Lowcountry Listens series in a live format. Created during the pandemic to showcase local artists, the first season of Lowcountry Listens featured virtual performances streamed to Facebook and YouTube.

In 2021, the Gaillard Center will present four performances live and in-person in intimate settings around the building to audiences ranging in size from 60 to 100 guests. Each will provide patrons with a unique opportunity to experience the Gaillard Center as never before, including sitting cabaret style on the stage of the Martha and John M. Rivers Performance Hall, experiencing the skylighted atrium of the Gallery, or enjoying a performance outside on the Terrace Lawn.

Lowcountry Listens Live lineup includes:

  • August 4th – Kevin Patton
    • Stage of the Martha and John M. Rivers Performance Hall
  • August 11th – Lindsay Holler
    • Terrace Lawn
  • August 18th – Tom Mackell
    • Gallery Lobby
  • August 25th – Dallas Baker
    • Stage of the Martha and John M. Rivers Performance Hall

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 11th at 11 am at gaillardcenter.org. Tickets are $25 (plus applicable fees) and there is limited availability. Gaillard Center Members receive a ticket discount and pre-sale access. You can become a member by contacting the Development Office at development@gaillardcenter.org or (843) 579-6468.

“While our venue was closed March through early September 2020, we presented 15 unique performances from local artists through Lowcountry Listens,” said Stephen A. Bedard, President & CEO of the Charleston Gaillard Center. “I am delighted this series will continue with in-person patrons this year as we continue to provide unforgettable experiences to the Lowcountry community.”
