Inhale Gently With a Small Vaping Device
If you're a new vaper, there's a good chance that you're using a smaller vaping device like a pod-based system. There are several reasons for that. One reason is because pod-based systems are small and inexpensive, and that's what many new vapers want. Another reason is the fact that pod systems are optimized to use nicotine salt e-liquid, which is the vape juice that you want to use if you want your vaping device to deliver nicotine with cigarette-like efficiency.
The final reason why smaller vaping devices are so popular is because they have tight airflow characteristics, just like a cigarette. The reason why you want that as a new vaper is because you need tight airflow if you're going to inhale the vapor from your mouth to your lungs – which is the same way you inhale when you're smoking a cigarette.

You don't want that to happen, and the way to prevent it is by keeping your tank or pod full. Don't try to use your device until it's completely out of vape juice; top it up when it starts to get low. When you look inside your device's tank or pod, you'll see that the atomizer coil has small holes to allow the e-liquid to penetrate through to the wick. The e-liquid should always cover those holes. If it doesn't, it's time for a refill.
Don't Push Your Wattage Too Far
If you've purchased a vaping device with adjustable wattage settings, it probably didn't take you long to determine that, the higher your device's wattage is, the bigger the vapor clouds will be. Every vaping coil, however, has a specific wattage range in which it operates most reliably. In other words, it's possible to set your device's wattage so high that it exceeds the capabilities of the coil – and if that happens, the coil's cotton wick may burn. A burned wick ruins the coil forever, so that's something you want to avoid at all costs.
On the side of your atomizer coil, you should see a suggested wattage range etched into the metal casing. To keep the coil's wick in good shape, you should keep your device within that range – and if you enjoy vaping with long, deep puffs, you're going to want to keep your device closer to the low end of that range. If you're vaping within your coil's suggested wattage range and are unhappy with the vapor production of your tank, you should strongly consider buying a more powerful tank.
Listen to Your Body When Choosing Your Nicotine Strength
The most important thing to know about choosing the nicotine strength for your e-liquid is that the more vapor your device produces, the lower your nicotine strength should be. If you're inhaling bigger clouds, you're using more e-liquid per puff. Therefore, the e-liquid doesn't have to be as high in nicotine in order for you to enjoy your desired level of satisfaction.
That recommendation, however, is only a starting point. From there, you'll need to listen to your body to determine whether the nicotine strength you're using is right for you. When you vape, do you find the vapor difficult to inhale because it irritates your throat? If that's the case, your nicotine strength is probably too high. If you can't satisfy your craving for cigarettes regardless of how often you vape, on the other hand, there's a good chance that your nicotine strength is too low.
