We’re all feeling a little cooped up about now, and it’s understandable to want to get out there and see some of our favorite sports live. There is no better time in Charleston than the following couple of months to see live sports in our area. Whether you love professional level or amateur, want to get out and have a drink with a few friends, or are ready to spend hours cheering your heart out, there’s something for you this winter. Let’s look at a few of the best live sporting events this winter in Charleston.
Jacksonville Icemen at South Carolina Stingrays: Wednesday, February 14th @ 3:05 PM
If you’ve never been to the North Charleston Coliseum, now is your chance. The beautiful arena is home to the Stingrays. Their home games are always a great experience for the whole family, with an extensive food court and excellent shopping selection. The seats are comfortable, the match on the ice is excellent, and this matchup should be no different.
PBR – Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour: Friday, February 26th @ 8:00 PM
North Charleston Coliseum plays host again, but instead of Stingrays on the ice, we have professional bull riders taking center stage. Action, excitement, danger, and glory come to the forefront as the nation’s best bull-riding athletes go up against the strongest, fiercest bulls in the country. This is one you definitely won’t want to miss.
PBR – Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour: Saturday, February 27th @ 7:00 PM
Can’t make it to the first event? The bull riding fun keeps going the very next day. It’s not every day you get to see some of the best bull riders in the country in your own backyard, so you’ll want to get to one of these two events.
Jacksonville Icemen at South Carolina Stingrays: Friday, March. 5th @ 6:05 PM
The rivalry continues at the North Charleston Coliseum as the Icemen visit the Stingrays.
Jacksonville Icemen at South Carolina Stingrays: Saturday, March 6th @ 5:05 PM
This back-to-back weekend on ice will be one to remember. Whether you want to get the ultimate experience and watch both parts of the series live or you only make it to one game, you’ve got to see how exciting live hockey can be.
Florida Everblades at Greenville Swamp Rabbits: Saturday, March 20th @ 5:05 PM
It’s not right in your back yard, but if you’re itching for a reason to go on a few hour road trip on a Saturday afternoon, it doesn’t get any better than Swamp Rabbits hockey. Add the Bon Secours Wellness arena in Greenville to your worldwide arena tour, and it’s very likely to become one of your favorites.
Fort Wayne Comets at South Carolina Stingrays: Saturday, March 19th @ 6:05 PM
If you don’t want to leave the city limits, you can still see great hockey as the Fort Wayne Comets travel to take on the South Carolina Stingrays. The food at the North Charleston Coliseum is excellent, and the product on the ice is even better.
