Due to the coronavirus, the Frances Marion Hotel will no longer be the site of The Sophia Institute’s 15th annual “Transforming from the Inside Out” Luncheon. Instead, on May 13th at noon, anyone can watch the virtual luncheon, streamed live right from their living room.
Hailed as The Sophia Institute’s biggest fundraiser of the year, the event will feature a host of special guests including self-help author and spiritual leader, Marianne Williamson; award winning actress, Ellen Burstyn (right); renowned visionary and scholar, Jean Houston; founder of The Soul of Money Institute, Lynne Twist; and a very special surprise from Mayor John Tecklenburg.
“We have experienced a heightened need in recent weeks as more and more people have come to us for assistance,” said Founder and Executive Director, Carolyn Rivers. “Our goal is to offer assistance, possibility and hope to individuals. To offer the tools and resources needed to live through enlightenment, spirituality and the belief in the human spirit.”
All proceeds from the luncheon support the organization’s year-round work that includes bringing leading-edge thinkers, activists, and visionaries to Charleston and supporting the Social Justice, Racial Equity Collaborative that works to transform Charleston into a more just and equitable place to live, work, and thrive.
“I encourage everyone to go to our website, www.thesophiainstitute.org, where you will find details and opportunities to engage with us to support our ongoing work,” Rivers said.
