, a pioneering French Cosmetic Company with the largest chain of branded Beauty Centers in Europe, and with more than 400 locations worldwide, has announced that the first GUINOT-branded Beauty Center in the United States will open in Mount Pleasant. Set to officially open on Monday, October 29th, the Beauty Center will be located at The Market at Oakland shopping center at 1161 Oakland Market Road in Suite F.
Founded more than 50 years ago in Paris by chemical engineer René Guinot, GUINOT’s approach to specialized skincare treatment reached a new level of pioneering innovation in the 1970’s when Jean-Daniel Mondin equated the process of giving skincare advice to that of pharmacists providing prescriptions. Now, the business model is based on the foundation of licensed estheticians, also known as Beauty Therapists, providing personalized client consultations and treatment prescriptions focused on the face and body and concentrating in anti-aging, firming, sun treatments and waxing.
The GUINOT brand, already clinically proven and highly respected across the world, is the number one professional brand in France and is sold in more than 70 countries. It’s also consistently ranked as one of the top salon names in the UK and Ireland. With GUINOT products already available in more than 1,000 salons across the U.S., and the company’s growing success in other countries with their salon franchise model, GUINOT’s new partnership opens the door for new opportunities in the United States.
“I have developed a professional environment for the Beauty industry centered around the aesthetician, so that women who have tried all kinds of products and brands without real success, can finally discover the difference that beauty care applied in our treatment rooms can achieve! I am delighted to bring the full GUINOT-branded experience to the Charleston market for our first opening in the U.S., and being led by someone who’s truly committed to the brand and understands our approach,” said Mr. Mondin.
The Beauty Center located in Mount Pleasant North is owned and operated by SherryJean LLC, with Jean Baudrand as the store’s Owner and General Manager. With more than 30 years of international retail and franchise experience at the executive-level, Baudrand’s background in the restaurant industry includes working with brands such as Yum! Brands, TGI Fridays, Quiznos and Burger King and others.
“This medically-inspired, aestheticians-centric skin care experience is the first of its kind in the region. GUINOT’s products have proven to be successful for almost 50 years now and their facial and body treatments have founded the growth of a 400+ chain of Beauty Salons, including more than 80 openings in Europe alone this year,” said Baudrand.
“Our philosophy is simple – just like seeing a Doctor or nurse for a medical issue, in order to facilitate an effective and successful skin treatment plan, an Esthetician should be consulted. My goal is to follow that model of success, supported by GUINOT’s all-natural, organic and certified line of products to introduce South Carolina residents to a brand-new way of thinking when it comes to skincare. To truly understand the value that our licensed aestheticians and treatments provide, I encourage you not to just take my word for it, but to stop by and experience the process, first-hand,” Baudrand continued.
Mount Pleasant’s GUINOT center is located at The Market at Oakland shopping center near East Bay Deli and Tropical Smoothie Café. The space is more than 1,600 sq. ft. and features four treatment rooms. Services that focus on the face, eyes and neck include anti-aging, firming, cleansing, peeling, lifting and relaxation treatments, and range in price from $45-$125. Additional services offered include full-body treatments like slimming anti-cellulite, body contouring, skin renewing exfoliation, self-tanning and thermo-relax firming (ranging from $45-$85), and full-body waxing (ranging from $15-$60). GUINOT’s line of make-up products – focused on skin, body and sun care – will also be available.
With plans already underway to continue to further GUINOT’s exposure in South Carolina, Baudrand will open three additional Beauty Centers in the Charleston region in 2019 – a second Mount Pleasant location as well as one storefront in Summerville’s Nexton community and another in West Ashley’s Avondale region.
