Leftovers: Tidbits from the Food & Bev Community (8/13/17)

I created the “Leftovers” series to ensure I could share as much food and bev news as possible, so here’s the latest:

  1. This fall, The Brick welcomes Virginia Tech alumni and Hokies fans for game watching parties. (The owner is a VA Tech alum and some of the staff also went to VT). Hokie fans can enjoy: $10 22-oz. Rails (a staple drink from Blacksburg…think a long island ice tea’s drunker red neck cousin). There are additional drink and food specials including unique specials for each quarter.
    1. The Brick is also offering  Weekly VIP packages for NFL fans. The offer includes beer, wings, and other food. Plus, you get to pick the 1 pm game to be played on the projector screen. There is only one package available per week.
  2. The Alley will show all Clemson and USC games on projector screens with the sound on. They’ll also show other NCAA games and all NFL contests. There will be drink and food specials during games.
    1. The Alley is also offering the following Fantasy Football package:
      • $50 per person
      • 3 hours
      • Food and Drinks
      • 60” TV + wifi
      • Personal server in private room, upstairs lounge, or bowling bar
      • contact to book
  3. Bay St. Biergarten will show all Clemson games with the sound on. They’ll also have all NFL games. Food and Drink specials will be available during games
    1. If you host your Fantasy Football draft at the Garten, you’ll get 10% off bill and a Free Fantasy Draft Kit
  4. The Crab Shacks are offering the Charleston Shellfish Bucket full of clams, mussels, shrimp, corn and potatoes for $17.99. A bucket of four ice cold Michelob Ultras are $9.99 all day, every day during the entire month of August. More info:

  5. Tavern and Table is partnering with Red’s Ice House for the Total Solar Eclipse on August 21st. The fun starts at Tavern and Table where you will be provided with a free pair of Solar Eclipse viewing glasses. Watch it all go down while enjoying beats by The Good Times Duo. The after party will take place at Red’s Ice House where guests can keep the party going on the dock with live music from Taco Donkey.

  6. DIG in the Park will now be Taco and Tunes Tuesday. From 4 pm to 11 pm every week, enjoy a variety of tacos with Karaoke starting at 7 pm. More info:

  7. With 20 big screens, outdoor and indoor patio bars, and an upgraded draft beer selection, Daniel Island Grille is a good destination for both NCAA and NFL action.

  8. On August 21st, St. James Gate will be open during the eclipse and will have traditional Irish Black Velvet Cocktails for $4.

    1. On August 26th, the restaurant will host their version of the Puck Fair, a traditional Irish festival in which a wild goat is caught and crowned “King Puck.” Starting at 1 pm, they will host the “Pup Fair” in honor of National Dog Day and crown one lucky dog. St. James Gate has partnered with Pet Helpers to raise money for the local non-profit. The Pup Fair will feature food and drink specials such as their new hot dog menu and The Wolf Hound Punch, where proceeds will be donated directly to Pet Helpers. The fair will also feature live music with Josh Taylor at 6 pm. All dogs are welcome to enter and the winning dog and it’s owner will receive a $100 gift certificate to St. James Gate. More info:
  9. This August, Wasabi will be spotlighting the Papaya Ahi Maki featuring snow crab salad, avocado, and Asian pear salad. The dish is topped with papaya, sear tuna, and Kaiware, finished with sriracha balsamic vinaigrette, and wrapped with green soy paper. It’s $14 for the month of August. Available at Wasabi Mt.
