Jenkins, who owned Gullah Cuisine in Mt. Pleasant, will serve as Gentry’s Gullah specialist and chef consultant. She is widely respected and has received accolades from The Washington Post, The New York Times, and Southern Living.
The restaurant also announced that established beverage professional Olin Cramer was hired as the Director of Beverages and Master Mixologist. Cramer has been instrumental in helping to construct successful cocktail programs in places like Cannon Green and the Striped Pig Distillery.
Both Jenkins and Cramer will join a kitchen being led by Chef Marvin Woods.
Gentry Bar & Room is owned by JD Madison and will be located on lower King Street – in the former home of Sermet’s. It is scheduled to open this spring.
