Live 5 News and Select Health of South Carolina will present “Emanuel AME: One Year Later,” a special one-hour, commercial-free program to air from 8 – 9 p.m. on Friday, June 17th. The special broadcast will take an in-depth look at the incident and recovery in the year that has passed since the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church tragedy. Live 5 News veteran journalists will talk with those most affected and examine how they continue to transform Charleston, our state and nation as part of the ongoing healing process. Rebecca Engelman, Market President at Select Health, will deliver opening and closing messages.
“One heartbreaking night forever changed the history of Charleston, which responded with strength, care and compassion for everyone involved,” said Engelman. “As our community works together to move upward and onward, we will always remember and cherish the nine lives lost at Mother Emanuel.”
