Welcome Home, Again!
Did you serve in the Vietnam War? Historically speaking, the welcoming home of soldiers from this war was not as celebrated as others. So, the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will try to make up for that now! On Friday, April 24th, the Museum and USS Yorktown Foundation will host a Welcome Home party for Vietnam vets.
Tickets for “The Welcome Home Party You Never Got” can be purchased online. Admission is $20 a pop and includes BBQ, beer, wine, and live music provided by the Explorers Club, who will be covering popular Vietnam War-era tunes. The event will start at 7 pm.
The party will also include access to the interactive Vietnam Experience Exhibit. There’s going to be some cool artifacts that will really take you back, or if you are a family member of a vet, will open your eyes to what warfare was like in Vietnam. There will also be speakers stationed around the event to tell tales and stories from that time frame.
