The Charleston Bed Race Returns Next Month
Gentlemen…START! YOUR!….um…mattresses?
The Charleston Bed Race is returning to the Holy City on Sunday, March 22nd at 1 pm. For the first time in its six-year history, the event will be held at Blackbaud Stadium.
And yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like it is – people will race each other in bed-based contraptions!
After a parade showcasing each bed, the competition begins. Each team will take part in a race over approximately two city blocks. Awards will be given out for Fastest Bed, Slowest Bed, Best Decorated Bed, Most Outrageously Decorated Bed, Best “What Were You Thinking” Bed, and the People’s Choice Award.
The event also includes live music and food trucks.
