After a successful first run back in June, “Strings & Salsa” will return to the Charleston Music Hall on Friday, November 21st at 8 pm. The show is a collaboration between the Charleston salsa community and a lineup of local musicians.
“Strings & Salsa” is the brainchild of Robbi Kenney, who decided to combine her two favorite pastimes of salsa dancing and playing the violin. She partnered with Gino Castillo and a group of violinists and cellists to finalize the project.
Attendees will hear “traditional salsa dance tunes” and ‘Cubanized’ versions contemporary artists like Stevie Wonder and Pharrell Williams. For a preview of the event, watch the video at the bottom of this post.
Dancing in the aisles will be highly encouraged! Doors open at 7 pm for the 8 pm show. For more information and tickets, click here.
