The 2014 South Carolina high school football season unofficially kicks-off late next month during the 44th annual Sertoma Football Classic. With 24 local teams participating, this is easily the biggest high school sporting event of the year.
The Sertoma Classic features 12 games over two days (8/21 and 8/22) at The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Memorial Stadium in downtown Charleston. Gates open at 4 pm with the festivities starting at 5 pm on both days. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased here.
Proceeds from this year’s event will be given to local charities and schools like Windwood Farm Home for Children & Family Services, Eagle Harbor Ranch, Trinitas Foundation, Camp Happy Days, Boy Scouts of America, Ronald McDonald House, Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, West Ashley JROTC, and SCHSL.
There will be a $5 parking fee for all lots, including The Holiday Alumni Center Lot, Stoney Field Lot, Altman Center Lot, and MUSC Lot.
