Charlestonians were already anxiously awaiting the official confirmation of this year’s Hootie & the Blowfish HomeGrown concert, but now lead singer Darius Rucker has increased the anticipation.
Rucker told The Hollywood Reporter that the band has discussed recording a brand new album AND heading out on a yearlong farewell tour.
Rucker said those plans are still a few years away, so in the meantime, Hootie & the Blowfish may do a 20th anniversary tour next year to celebrate their major label debut (1994’s Cracked Rear View).
