On the same day an incredible World Series game was played, multiple local news outlets were reporting some cool baseball news. The Post & Courier, The Digitel, and Live 5 News all have pieces on the big leagues coming to North Charleston. Well, sort of. Construction of three baseball fields for kids has started at Wescott Park with a major league tie-in. The parks are going to be replicas of Boston’s Fenway Park, San Francisco’s AT&T Park, and Atlanta’s Turner Field. How awesome is that? I’m actually pretty jealous of all the kids who get to play on those mini-sized MLB parks. The fields are set to open in the Spring of 2013.
HERE is the story from the Post & Courier.
The Digitel’s coverage is HERE.
And Live 5 News has video of the ground-breaking HERE.
