A unique event will be taking place this Friday at the Charleston Visitor’s Center Bus Shed. Charleston Scene will be presenting the Charleston Mac Off – a competition to determine which Holy City restaurant has the best mac and cheese. According to the official site, there are 17 area restaurants competing for the honor this year including 82 Queen, Hometeam BBQ, Poogan’s Porch, Fat Hen, King Street Grille, Jpaul’z and Rita’s.
General Admission is $10 with Mac and Cheese samples running $1. Drinks will be available for $2-$5. There is also the option of purchasing the “Mac Pack” for $25. This ticket includes admission, a sample from each competitor and one beverage.
This is the second annual edition of the event and will run from 7-11 pm. Some proceeds will benefit Charleston Peace One Day.
