South Carolina ETV (SCETV) will host the 2024 International Public Television (INPUT) Conference in Charleston from May 5th to 9th. This annual, weeklong conference is the only international conference that focuses specifically on the innovative programs produced by public media and showcases public media content from around the world. INPUT, a non-profit organization of public media program makers and broadcasters, organizes this conference to discuss and challenge public media globally.
The 2024 INPUT Conference is poised to be a pivotal event for cultural exchange, innovation and networking within the global public media community. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore a rich tapestry of content, fostering cross-cultural understanding and collaboration. The conference will also showcase the latest innovations in public media production and distribution, inspiring attendees to push the boundaries of creativity and storytelling in their work. Additionally, the conference provides a unique networking environment where attendees can forge meaningful connections, exchange ideas and form partnerships that extend beyond geographical boundaries.
INPUT is held in a different country each year and encourages the development of public media by screening and debating the most outstanding programs and multi-platform media from around the world. INPUT provides a unique professional development opportunity for producers, directors, writers and independent producers who contribute to public broadcasting.
The conference is expected to bring together approximately 400 content creators and feature content from 34 countries. The conference will have three different spaces for attendees to screen the unique content and engage with filmmakers. The main feature of the INPUT conference is the professional discussion that follows each screening of a production. All screenings are accompanied by a key individual involved with the film. In addition to screening films, there will be several pre- and post-conference events scheduled as well as breakouts to dive deeper into the films.
