North Charleston Fire Department (NCFD) has partnered with the American Red Cross of South Carolina and Fire Safe SC to install free smoke alarms to residents of the Dorchester Village Mobile Home Park on Saturday, April 27th. Teams of volunteers and firefighters will be going door-to-door, meeting with families to test and install smoke alarms, and educate on fire safety to reduce their fire risks.
For residents not in Dorchester Village, North Charleston Fire Department has a smoke alarm program offered year around. Residents can schedule an appointment to have firefighters come to their homes to assess their fire risk and receive free smoke alarms when needed. To request appointments, call NCFD at 843-740-2616 or visit their website.
