The Lowcountry Food Bank Foundation (LCFBF), an independent nonprofit that provides sustainable funding to solely support Lowcountry Food Bank, announced today the election of its Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Newly elected members of the Executive Committee of the LCFBF Board are Bob Kahle, Chair (Kahle Strategic Insights, Managing Director); Tyler Condon, Vice-Chair (Lobee Learning, Co-Founder); Steve Swanson, Treasurer (Automated Trading Desk, Co-Founder); and Erika Harrison, Secretary (Law Offices of Erika V. Harrison, Principal).
Rounding out the LCFBF Board of Directors are: Pat Walker, Chair Emerita (Lowcountry Food Bank, President and CEO - retired); Henry Tisdale, Chair of the Governance Committee (Claflin University, President - retired); Tom Jeffries, Co-Chair of the Finance Committee (Quoizel, CFO - retired); Aaron Brewer (Mid-Atlantic Capital Partners, CEO); Mark Crocker (Dixon, Hughes, Goodman, Partner - retired); Turquoi Dorsey (Inside Real Estate, Director), Brian Hubacher (Wilson Jones Carter and Baxter, Attorney), Milton Irvin (UBS Investment Bank - retired), Mike Smith (HBM Holdings, Board Advisor), and Chris Tobin (Flywheel Advancement, President).

The LCFBF Board is responsible for stewardship and governance of the nonprofit and its assets. Its mission is to provide a consistent and sustainable source of long-term funding to support the Lowcountry Food Bank, its sole beneficiary. It does this primarily by securing planned bequests held within its endowment, which has grown to $1.8 million. Annually, cash distributions are made to support LCFB initiatives.

The new LCFBF Board Chair, Bob Kahle, has worked with LCFB as a research and planning partner since 2017. Kahle previously served as Vice Chair of the Foundation Board. Kahle is the Managing Director of Kahle Strategic Insights, a research, evaluation, and planning firm, having begun his work with LCFB while serving in a leadership role at the College of Charleston’s Riley Center for Livable Communities from 2016-2020. Kahle holds a Ph.D. in sociology from Wayne State University and BA and MA degrees in sociology from Ohio University.
The new Vice-Chair, Tyler Condon, has a long and distinguished record of service to the LCFB and its Foundation. He served on the LCFB’s board for six years and has served as a board member with the Foundation since its inception. Condon spent a decade at Morgan Stanley as a Financial Advisor, focusing on investment management and financial planning. In 2021, he joined Lobee Learning as Chief Operating Officer, where he oversees operations and drives innovation for the education tech startup. Condon holds a BA in economics from Wake Forest University.
The new Treasurer is Steve Swanson who has financial expertise and a stellar record of community service in Charleston. He has served on the LCFB Foundation Board since 2022. Swanson is the co-founder of Automated Trading Desk (ATD) and served in key leadership roles at Citibank after it purchased ATD in 2007. At Citigroup, Swanson was global co-head of electronic trading for equities. He also serves on the boards of Trident United Way, YesCarolina, and at his alma mater, the College of Charleston, where he is currently Vice Chair of their Board of Trustees. From 2015 to 2018, Swanson was a member of the Board of Trustees at South Carolina State University, focused on its successful turn-around and reaffirmation of its accreditation.
The new Secretary is Erika Harrison who serves as General Counsel for CHC Vacation Rentals, Inc. She currently serves on the City of Charleston Planning Commission and previously served on the Board of Architecture. Her previous nonprofit board experience includes serving on the board of YesCarolina. She earned her Bachelor of Arts (history)and Doctor of Law degrees from Wake Forest University.
