Charleston County is releasing a one-time funding opportunity to provide 501(c)(3) organizations with funding to expand their mission-driven services through equipment acquisition and/or modifications to existing buildings and structures through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) in response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on public health and economy. An organization’s capital project request must be reasonable and proportional to the level of economic impact the organization experienced.
Applications for this program are now open, and the deadline for application submission is Friday, April 19, 2024 by 5 p.m. Late applications, forms, and attachments will not be accepted. Interested organizations are invited to complete a Letter of Interest which will then be evaluated based on following criteria: capacity to manage federal funds, project readiness, demonstration of need, community impact, and documentation of negative economic impact due to the pandemic. Selected applicants will then be invited to submit a full proposal.
Letters of Interest can be submitted here: https://portal.
Application training is available on Charleston County Community Development and Revitalization’s website. Applicants will be offered technical assistance with the application portal, but staff cannot answer questions regarding the organization’s application details. Please send any questions for portal technical assistance to CommunityDev@charlestoncounty.
