Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum and the USS Yorktown Foundation announce that $20,378 was raised during “Tickets for Texas” weekend. From Sept. 2-4, $7 of every museum admission ticket sold went to the USS Yorktown Foundation as part of a Hurricane Harvey relief fund. Nearly 3,000 people visited the museum during the three day period.
The $20,378 fund will be donated to the Houston Food Bank in honor of the museum ships USS Lexington, located in Corpus Christi, and USS Texas, located in La Porte.

Houston Food Bank spokesman Adele Brady said the “Tickets for Texas” donation will do a lot to support their relief efforts.

We feel that it is important to show how citizens of a great nation assist each other in a time of need.”
