With the popularity of Roulette only increasing with time, it will come as no surprise that some players, past and present, believe there is a strategy to correctly predicting the next outcome. Whilst no method is confirmed, these theories may act as inspiration for your next game.
And, with this in mind, we wanted to explore some of the Roulette strategies players believe to work in their favour to beat the wheel and reap the rewards.
The Martingale System
One of the most popular strategies with online players, although less so with more traditional players, the Martingale System is based on the idea of increasing your wager each time you lose, by doubling the previous amount placed, so that when (if) you win, you eventually receive all of your previous wagers back.
The most effective way of using this strategy is to only bet even-money outside bets. These bets consist of 1 – 18, 19 – 36, Red, Black, Odd and Even. Outside bets have an almost 50% chance of winning, but with this, comes the lowest of payouts found on the table, at 1:1. A 1:1 payout means that when you win, you'll receive the same amount of money you placed with that bet, for that spin.
This strategy comes with big risks of losing huge amounts of money, and you are essentially betting big to win small.
The D'Alembert System
Just like the Martingale, the D'Alembert system is based on placing bets on the even-money areas found on a Roulette table. However, instead of doubling with each loss, you simply add your original stake to the previous amount placed. For example, if you start with 1.00 credits, and you lose, you add another 1.00 credits to create a 2.00 credit bet. If you, unfortunately, lose again, you add another 1.00 credit to the total and place a 3.00 credit bet. When you predict correctly, you take off 1.00 credits from your winning round bet. For example, you placed 4.00 credits and won, the next spin of the wheel you'll place a 3.00 credit bet.
A perceived advantage of using this system is that you can keep a handle on your stake amount, at least in the short term.
The Fibonacci System
This is seen as one of the safest strategies, compared to others we have looked into. The Fibonacci System is based on the popular Fibonacci numbers. This is a sequence comprised of numbers increasing by adding the two previous amounts together. The sequence goes as follows; 1 – 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 – 8 – 13 – 21 – 34 – 55 – 89 – 144 – 233 – 337 – 610 – 987.
By using this system, you are more likely to walk away with a profit, rather than a loss, even if you lose more games than you win in the process.

Although these strategies have worked for some players in previous games throughout the years, there is no rhyme or reason to these successes. Remember, Roulette is a game of chance, which means that players are left leaving their likelihood of winning up to Lady Luck herself.
