The team behind Lowlife Bar has partnered up with Thomas Wilson and Chef Josh Taylor in their latest venture, Lost Isle, a fire-to-table concept serving small and large dishes, all coming from an expansive wood-fired grill.
The new restaurant will be quite unique. Upon arrival, guests will be met by an emcee who will talk them through the entire dining experience and ordering process. The restaurant exclusively has outdoor seating under the live oaks of Johns Island. The seating area will be covered with large sails and the bar will be covered as well, making outdoor dining possible during all seasons and weather.
In addition to frequently changing specials, guests can expect small dishes such as Whipped Ricotta with Smoked Tomato, and Woodfired Oysters with Chili Butter to larger plates like Grilled Whole Fish with Hazelnut Salsa Matcha, Delmonico Steak with Chimichurri and Tomahawk Pork Chops with Tomato-Cherry Chutney. Side dishes like Charcoal Roasted Carrots, Charred Wedge salad, and Curry Braised Collards will also be featured on Lost Isle’s menu.
The beverage menu will include house-made cocktails on tap alongside martinis and Manhattans – straight out of the cocktail freezer. Additionally, there will be multiple beers and wines on tap, as well as a curated list of wines by the bottle, rums, tequilas, and other spirits.
Guests can look forward to special evenings such as community potlucks, grilled pizza nights, and more in 2024.
Lost Isle is located at 3338 Maybank Highway on John’s Island. Opening date and hours are forthcoming. For more information, follow along on social media @lostislejohnsisland.
