Monday, February 12
4pm: Darwin Week Keynote Speaker, SSME 129
Dr. Jason Vance will speak on the dynamics and evolution of insect flight in his talk, "Flight Performance in Insects: Insights into Costs and Selection for Compensatory Mechanisms"
5pm-7pm: Night at the Museum, Mace Brown Museum
Hang out at the Mace Brown Natural History Museum after hours and join us in celebrating Darwin Week! Explore the museum, complete a scavenger hunt for prizes, or hang out and watch campy evolution themed cartoons with free popcorn!
Tuesday, February 13
5:30pm - 7pm: Research Symposium,"Deciphering Nature's Tangled Bank", SSME 129
Join us in a celebration of scientific research taking place at CofC. Undergraduate students, graduate students, and instructors will give five minute "lightning" talks pertaining to their fields of research. Prizes will be award to the best presentation and pizza will be avaliable in the atrium afterwards!

Saturday, February 17
3pm: Dinosaurs and Volcanoes, Mace Brown Museum of Natural History
Join us for a night of Dinosaurs and Volcanoes at the Mace!
Mace curator Dr. Scott Persons will speak on dinosaur hunting in Wyoming in his talk titled, "The Charleston Dinosaur Expedition: Lost Lands and Seas".
College of Charleston geology professor Dr. John Chadwick will present on the volcanoes of Mars and the chances of extraterrestrial life in his talk, "Volcanoes of the Red Planet: Is There Life on Mars?"
Following the presentation, guests are invited to explore the halls of the museum and chat with speakers. The Mace will be open an extra hour until 5pm.
