Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) is hosting Spotlight on Local Women of Note on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 5:30-6:30 pm at Moncks Corner Library, located at 1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner.
The lineup of speakers include:
- Michelle A. Wilson Green, Author - Anything Can Happen: The Trial and Now, as well as, Anything Can Happen. Founder and C.E.O. of ROYS – Reclaiming Our Youth Services a non-profit organization and also the chairperson for Voices of Black Mothers United. She is also a retired elementary school principal.
- Danielle Marriott - Firefighter with St. Paul's Fire Department and the City of Goose Creek.
- Charlotte Cruppenik – Retired U.S. Marine, served as Town of Moncks Corner Council Member from January 2014 to December 2021. Currently she serves as South Carolina State Constable and a member of the Town of Moncks Corner Planning Commission.
- Dr. Jennifer Branton – Engineer at Boeing SC.
All attendees will be entered into a drawing for an elegant door prize. Registration is not required to attend.
"All history includes acts by women," said Florence Lewis-Coker, Senior Branch Librarian. "Women's rights are currently being eroded across the U.S. and women of quality are still fighting for equal pay in the workforce. We want to highlight some of these amazing women by hosting this program."
